Below you will find information that will help you understand what your student’s EOG scores mean. This same information can be found on the Parents and Community Link above for Academic Standards and Testing, and here for questions about Quantiles and Lexiles.
Your student’s score is only one way of understanding how your student is progressing in school. Parents, students and school staff should consider all available information when making decisions about student success including attendance, behavior, grades, and attitudes about learning.
Achievement Level:
- Students who are “Not Proficient” demonstrate inconsistent understanding of grade-level content and will need support. Their scores are reflected as a Level 1 or 2.
- Students at Level 3 demonstrate sufficient understanding of grade-level content standards though some support may be needed to engage with content at the next grade level or course level
- Students at Level 4 demonstrate a thorough understanding of grade-level content standards and are on track for career and college
- Students at Level 5 demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of grade-level content standards, are on track for career and college, and are prepared for advanced content at the grade level or course level
Percentile Rank: The percentile shows a student performed at a level equal to or better than the stated percentage of students at their grade level in our state who took the assessment during the first year the test was administered.
