About Hudson Middle School

Hudson Middle School is nestled in the foothills of western North Carolina, against a scenic backdrop of the Blue Ridge Mountains, including Grandfather Mountain. We are located just off Highway 321 N on Pine Mountain Road, directly behind the Department of Motor Vehicles Office in the town of Hudson.

Our school was originally built in 1955, and served as Hudson High School. In 1977, it became Hudson Junior High School and served grades 7-9. It became Hudson Middle School in 1990. We serve the 6-8th graders in our community. Our mascot is the Hornet, and our school colors are green and gray.

Hudson Middle School offers excellent extra-curricular, fine arts, and enrichment programs to supplement the standard North Carolina Middle School curriculum. Our band and chorus receive yearly awards, and are involved in numerous competitions throughout the school year. Our Athletic Department offers football, soccer, softball, wrestling, basketball, volleyball, baseball, cheerleading, and archery. We also offer a variety of service-centered school clubs where students collaborate and get involved in our community, including Beta Club, Student Council, and FCA /Fellowship of Christian Athletes.

We are very proud of our school, its history, and its traditions. Our students and faculty are known throughout the county for their caring attitude and leadership qualities. We work hard to provide rich opportunities and continuous support that empowers our students to be good people and community leaders. Our school is much more than a slogan that is posted or painted on a school wall. We are near and dear to each other. Come visit us, and see why "EVERYDAY IS A GOOD DAY HERE AT THE HIVE."
